Material

Materials are one of our bread and butter content types and are often where a lot of the basic learning and information will be. Here at Growth Engineering, we strive for engagement, through gamified eLearning and bite-sized content. However, we understand there are times you need to be able to convey a large amount of information and that’s the purpose of materials.

Material is a downloadable file, so any documents you want on the LMS such as Flexible Working policies can be hosted here. These pieces of content can either be viewed on the platform or downloaded. 

Types of file that work as Material are:

1. PDF

2. Word

3. Powerpoint

4. Excel

5. Images

6. Audio clips 

7. Small videos

The maximum file size for material is 40mb, so any larger files need to be compressed before being uploaded.

Note that you can upload up-to 3 pieces of content under one material type. Hence, you might want to add a pdf and workbook under the same ‘material’ type.

Like videos and eLearning, materials are split into sections in the admin dashboard, which means they are stored in a function-based organisation structure in the back end and the more aesthetic learner view in the library on the front end.
